New award for data processing of marine geophysical data
A recent grant from Seismic Micro Technologies (http://www.seismicmicro.com/) was recently awarded to the laboratory for the acquisition of several licences of the Kingdom Suite software. The award (727 050 $US) will allow the data processing and visualisation of large quantities of seismic marine data obtained on board research vessels such as the Coriolis II or the CCGS Amundsen in Eastern and Arctic Canada for stratigraphic and sedimentological purposes.

Example of data processing and visualisation of marine geophysical data performed using the Kingdom Suite software. In this example, the thick sedimentary sequence accumulated in the St. Lawrence Estuary near Rimouski in the Laurentian Channel is highlighted. The base of the seismic unit 2 was deposited during the Younger Dryas cold episode. Also illustrated is the location of the long MD99-2220 piston core. From St-Onge et al.
