Postdoctoral fellowship in paleomagnetism
PROJET DESCRIPTION
The Institut des sciences de la mer de Rimouski (ISMER) of the Université du Québec à Rimouski (Rimouski, Québec, Canada) is seeking a candidate for a postdoctoral fellowship in paleomagnetism. The project will focus on geomagnetic field modulation of the production rate of cosmogenic isotopes during the Holocene.
EXPECTED STARTING DATE
Fall 2016
LOCATION

For this project, a fellowship of 50 000 $CAN is available for 1 year, with a possible extension of up to 2 additional years.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
The candidate will have a PhD in Earth Sciences (physical geography, geology, geological engineering, oceanography, or a related discipline) and a strong background in paleomagnetism and sedimentology. A solid practical knowledge of instruments commonly used in paleomagnetism and relevant experience at sea or in the field are also required. Finally, some knowledge of French will be an advantage, but is not a requirement, and experience in student supervision would be an asset.
